Sunil Pal recently expressed his views on Instagram regarding Kapil Sharma’s comedy show, “The Great Indian Kapil Show,” ending abruptly after just a month on Netflix. Pal, known for his humor, commented on the show’s cancellation due to low TRPs, expressing his happiness about its end.
In his Instagram video, the 49-year-old comedian mentioned that he had warned Kapil Sharma about the show’s fate on an OTT platform like Netflix. He believed that Netflix, known for its often “vulgar, double meaning content” and “nudity,” wasn’t a suitable platform for artists like Kapil Sharma, suggesting that he should return to television, where he is more suited as a “ghar ghar ke artist.” Pal also advised Kapil’s co-stars Krushna Abhishek and Kiku Sharda to avoid appearing on other shows.
However, Sunil Pal’s comments didn’t sit well with some netizens, who criticized him for being happy about the show’s failure despite its initial hype. They suggested that he was jealous and lacked talent himself, advising him to start his own show and earn respect.
“The Great Indian Kapil Show” featured several celebrities, including Ranbir Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor, Diljit Dosanjh, Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Vicky Kaushal, Parineeti Chopra, and Aamir Khan, who shared their life experiences during its one-month run.
