Xiaomi MI 12 & 12 Pro Specifications
Xiaomi’s MI 12 series has been confirmed to launch in China on December 28, 2021.
Ahead of its launch, a teaser with an image of two of the smartphones in the upcoming flagship series was shared by Xiaomi.
The image shows the design of Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro.
The Xiaomi 12 series is expected to feature three models at launch this year.
There’s going to be the standard Xiaomi 12, a beefed-up Xiaomi 12 Pro, and a watered-down Xiaomi 12X. Rumors suggest that all these phones are expected to reach global markets.
It remains to be seen whether Xiaomi India brings the Xiaomi 12 series to India in 2022.
Separately, Xiaomi 12 Pro has been spotted on Geekbench benchmarking website, hinting at its key specifications.
It is said to be powered by the recently announced Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC.
At the Qualcomm Snapdragon event a few weeks ago, Xiaomi announced that it would be the first company to launch a phone globally with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip.
The Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro are expected to get the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip.
The Xiaomi 12X, on the other hand, is expected to get the lesser-powered Snapdragon 870 chip.

Through a Weibo post, Xiaomi shared a teaser for its upcoming Xiaomi 12 series smartphones.
The image shows only the front of the smartphones and one side of each.
Xiaomi 12 is shown with a small display, with the power button and volume rocker on the right spine.
Xiaomi 12 Pro, on the other hand, has a bigger display and its left spine is empty.
It is safe to assume that both smartphones will have identical frames and button placements.
The selfie camera is housed in a centrally placed hole-punch cutout.
The top and the bottom parts of the two smartphones are not visible.
Earlier this week, Xiaomi confirmed that it will be launching the Xiaomi 12 series on December 28 at a special launch event.
The Xiaomi 12 series is said to comprise vanilla Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12 Pro, Xiaomi 12X, and Xiaomi 12 Ultra.
In 2021, Xiaomi launched the Mi 11 series early across global markets and released the Mi 11 Ultra many months later. The Mi 11 Ultra went on to take on the Galaxy S22 Ultra, especially with its cameras and top-notch hardware.
Xiaomi did launch the Mi 11 series in India but with completely different models.
The Mi 11X and Mi 11X Pro were essentially the Redmi K40 series models underneath.
The Mi 11 Ultra was sold briefly in India before Xiaomi withdrew its sales. It went on to become to most expensive Xiaomi smartphone in India ever.
