Country singer Zac Brown has filed a lawsuit against his estranged wife, Kelly Yazdi, over an Instagram post he claims breaches their confidentiality agreement and damages his reputation.
Court documents obtained by TMZ on Friday reveal that the Zac Brown Band lead singer has requested a temporary restraining order to compel Yazdi to remove the post in question. Brown argues this is necessary to prevent Yazdi from making false, defamatory, or harmful statements about him.
The specific Instagram post has not been disclosed. Yazdi, who married Brown in August 2023, frequently shares photos and videos of herself engaging in activities like swimming, snowmobiling, and fishing. However, her latest post from May 4 hints at someone experiencing “narcissistic abuse.”
“Her love was always unconditional. She thought his was too… But over time it became apparent that he only knew conditional love; his unhealed trauma expressing itself thru his need to tame,” Yazdi wrote alongside a video of herself swimming.
Referencing control tactics experienced by the character in her caption, she added, “Don’t model anymore. Take this picture off your Instagram. Don’t wear that in the house. Don’t post that bikini picture. Don’t post anymore fitness videos. Yes I said you could post that, but now I’m saying take it down.”
Yazdi’s caption further stated, “Projections. Gaslighting. Threatening. Stonewalling. Those are the ingredients of narcissistic abuse.”
BollywoodFever reached out to representatives for both Yazdi and Brown regarding the lawsuit but has yet to receive a response.
Yazdi, the founder of Ride Wild, and Brown, the “Chicken Fried” singer, got engaged in 2022 while vacationing in Hawaii. Although the duration of their relationship is unclear, Yazdi had been featured in various social media posts from the band throughout the summer.
In a July 2022 birthday tribute video to Brown, Yazdi can be seen wearing a dazzling ring on her finger, confirming their engagement.
The couple married in a private ceremony in Georgia in August 2023 but announced their separation four months later.
Zac Brown was previously married to jewelry designer Shelly Brown for 12 years before announcing their split in 2018. They share five children: daughters Justice, 16, Lucy, 15, Georgia, 13, and Joni, 12, and son Alexander, 9.
