Cameron Diaz Dismisses Rumors of Jamie Foxx’s Unprofessional Behavior on Netflix Film Set: Highlights His Exceptional Professionalism

During a recent episode of the “Lipstick on the Rim” podcast, Cameron Diaz addressed and refuted rumors surrounding Jamie Foxx’s behavior on the set of their Netflix movie, “Back in Action,” particularly during Foxx’s hospitalization for a medical emergency. Diaz expressed her frustration with reports that claimed Foxx had made the set miserable and that she wouldn’t make another movie because of him.

Diaz vehemently contradicted these rumors, stating, “I really hate all of the things that were being said about our set at the time. You just want to scream at the top of your lungs, like, ‘What are you talking about?’… Jamie is, like, the cheerleader for the entire crew. Everybody loves him. We have so much fun on the set with him, and he’s just a professional on every level.”

Despite the challenges, Diaz emphasized that she had a great experience working with Foxx on “Back in Action,” marking her first leading role in nearly a decade. She praised Foxx as a special and talented person, downplaying the natural hiccups that occurred during production.

Diaz chose not to discuss Foxx’s medical incident but assured that he is currently thriving. She commended Foxx for handling the situation with grace, stating, “When I see and hear people trying to take another person down like that … [Jamie is] so classy. He’s like, ‘Nope. Just let them [talk].’ Still, it just really made me angry.”

“Back in Action” reunites Diaz and Foxx, who previously collaborated on “Any Given Sunday” (1999) and the 2014 “Annie” remake. Directed by Seth Gordon (“Horrible Bosses”) from a script co-written with Brendan O’Brien (“Neighbors”), the film is set to be released in 2024.
