Priscilla Presley Honors Elvis on 47th Anniversary of His Passing
Priscilla Presley pays tribute to Elvis on the 47th anniversary of his death. Meanwhile, a Missouri woman faces charges for attempting to defraud the Presley family over Graceland.
Bollywood Fever: Priscilla Presley paid a touching tribute to her late ex-husband, Elvis Presley, on Friday, marking the 47th anniversary of his death. The 79-year-old businesswoman shared a heartfelt Instagram post, writing, “47 years and not a day goes by that I don’t think of you.” She accompanied the message with an instrumental version of Elvis’s classic hit “Always On My Mind.”
The tribute video featured a black-and-white photo of a young Elvis and concluded with a screen that read: “Elvis Aaron Presley, January 8, 1935 – August 16, 1977.” The song “Always On My Mind” holds a special place in Elvis’s discography, recorded just one day after his separation from Priscilla in March 1972. Although the song wasn’t written specifically for him, it resonated deeply with his fans, becoming one of his most beloved tracks from the 1970s.
Elvis’s rendition of “Always On My Mind” became commercially successful, earning a gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and reaching the top of the charts in both the U.S. and the UK.

Priscilla’s tribute comes amid troubling news involving the Presley family. A Missouri woman, Lisa Jeanine Findley, also known by several aliases, was arrested and charged with mail fraud and aggravated identity theft. Findley is accused of attempting to defraud the Presley family by claiming that Lisa Marie Presley had borrowed $3.8 million from a fake lender, using Graceland as collateral.
Prosecutors allege that Findley threatened to sell the iconic Graceland property if the Presley family didn’t pay a $2.85 million settlement. The scheme reportedly involved forged signatures and fake loan documents. Riley Keough, Elvis’s granddaughter and a successful actress, now holds ownership of Graceland after inheriting the trust from her mother, Lisa Marie Presley.
Graceland, which has been a museum and tourist attraction since 1982, continues to draw hundreds of thousands of visitors each year. Findley is currently facing serious charges, including up to 20 years in prison for mail fraud. She remains in custody pending her next court appearance.
As Priscilla Presley reflects on the legacy of Elvis, the Presley family faces yet another challenge, but the memory of the King of Rock and Roll remains as enduring as ever.
