Following Bayer Leverkusen’s clinching of the Bundesliga title two weeks ago, which ended Bayern’s 11-year reign, the team is now focused solely on the Champions League, with outgoing coach Thomas Tuchel aiming to conclude his tenure on a high note.

The match began with Bayern taking an early lead, thanks to Kane converting a ninth-minute opportunity created by Konrad Laimer’s impressive effort.

However, Laimer had to leave the field due to an injury shortly after his assist. Eintracht responded with an equalizer in the 23rd minute through Hugo Ekitike, who struck from 18 meters.

Kane then reclaimed the lead for Bayern with a penalty just after the hour mark, marking his 35th league goal of the season and his 400th career goal at the senior level for both club and country. This season’s tally of 42 goals across all competitions also set a new personal record for the England captain.

In addition to the game’s challenges, Bayern’s defense saw Matthijs de Ligt leave the field at halftime following several rough challenges, though it was not immediately confirmed if he was injured.

Bayern remains in second place in the Bundesliga standings, with 69 points, 11 points behind Leverkusen and three games left.

The match day also saw other movements in the league, with Borussia Dortmund, another Champions League semi-finalist, suffering a significant 4-1 defeat to RB Leipzig, who solidified their hold on fourth place.

Leipzig stands at 62 points, increasing their lead over fifth-placed Dortmund. The top four Bundesliga teams earn spots in next season’s Champions League group stage, and Germany may gain an additional spot based on UEFA’s coefficient rankings by the end of this season’s European competitions.
