The Emily in Paris star Lily Collins has traded in her signature chest-length tresses, which she has sported for three seasons on the hit Netflix series, for a summer-ready bob haircut.

Lily revealed her dramatic transformation at the world premiere of her new horror movie, MAXXXINE. Attending the June 24 event at Los Angeles’ TCL Chinese Theatre, the 35-year-old showcased her short ‘do, styled with a deep side part and curled tips to create a voluminous wave.

To ensure she was the center of attention on the red carpet, Lily dazzled in a Schiaparelli ensemble, featuring an oversized baby blue blazer and matching skirt with a thigh-high slit. She skipped the blouse, opting instead for a gold-chain harness adorned with the brand’s surrealist eye emblem. Gold leaf-shaped earrings and metallic sandal heels completed her striking look.

As for what prompted the actress’s drastic bob? She was ready for a change.

“Changing my hair always brings out different sides of my personality and I love playing around,” Lily told Vogue in an interview published June 24. “This cut and color feel bolder and yet somehow lighter. And completely more me—right now.”

Lily’s hair colorist, Jacob Schwartz, described her new shade as “dark suede brunette” on Instagram, while her hairstylist, Gregory Russell, shared the vision behind the major cut.

“I hadn’t seen Lily for a while and when she sat down in the chair she said, ‘What’s our next look?'” Gregory told Vogue. “We had the long hair for some time and we did layers, bangs, face-framing…we did a lot. We thought this would be a chic switch-up.”
