Megan Thee Stallion Twerking, after going no.1 on Billboard
American rapper Megan Thee Stallion is in celebration mode and twerking after going number 1 on Billboard.
Megan Thee Stallion’s most recent release, “Hiss,” made a grand entrance by claiming the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song’s ascent was likely propelled by a controversy it ignited when Nicki Minaj interpreted lyrics as a direct jab, leading to a social media exchange and Minaj’s response track, “Big Foot.”
Announced by Billboard on Monday afternoon, “Hiss” secured its No. 1 position on the Hot 100 chart dated Feb. 10.
In addition to its chart-topping success, “Hiss” dominates both streaming and sales metrics, as reported by Billboard. The song amassed an impressive 29.2 million streams within its inaugural week and sold 104,000 downloads.
Megan Thee Stallion provided fans with multiple renditions of the track, including an instrumental version and a “chopped ‘n screwed” mix, alongside both clean and explicit variations. Billboard highlighted that all versions contributed to the song’s streaming and sales figures.
Contrarily, Nicki Minaj’s response track, “Big Foot,” released shortly after “Hiss,” did not secure a spot within the Hot 100’s top 10 songs. This was attributed to its later release in the tracking week and its lower ranking on Spotify and Apple Music charts compared to “Hiss.”
Amidst the release frenzy, Megan Thee Stallion’s supporters rallied on social media, encouraging one another to purchase all available versions of “Hiss” and stream the song extensively, aiming to bolster its chances of achieving a No. 1 debut.
