The Swiss cyclist reportedly suffered a serious head injury on Thursday while navigating the 46-mile route between Uster and Zürich in torrential rain.

Furrer fell heavily around Küsnacht and was airlifted to a local hospital in critical condition. Despite efforts to save her, she passed away on Friday. The International Cycling Union (UCI) stated that investigations into the accident are ongoing, with further explanations expected at a later date.
