Nicki Minaj and Kenneth Petty Required to Compensate Security Guard with $500,000 Following Lawsuit Ignored
Nicki Minaj and her spouse, Kenneth Petty, have been mandated by a court to pay $503,318.02 to a security guard, Thomas Weidenmuller, as part of a default judgment.Â
The ruling came after the couple did not respond to his lawsuit alleging injuries during an incident at a 2019 concert in Germany.
The judgment was issued by Judge Lynne M. Hobbs of the Los Angeles County Superior Court.
The Incident Leading to the Lawsuit Against Nicki Minaj and Kenneth Petty
The lawsuit, initiated by Weidenmuller in 2022, stemmed from an event on March 22, 2019, at Nicki Minaj‘s concert in Germany, where he was providing security services. Following a security breach by a fan who managed to get on stage but was quickly removed by security, Minaj reportedly became extremely upset and began yelling at a female security guard.
Attempting to defuse the situation, Weidenmuller approached Minaj, which led to a heated exchange and Minaj allegedly throwing a shoe at him. According to Weidenmuller, Minaj later informed her husband about the altercation.
Weidenmuller claimed he was summoned to a private room by Minaj, where he encountered her, Petty, and two of Minaj’s security guards. It was in this setting that Petty allegedly assaulted him, with the others looking on but not intervening.
Weidenmuller sustained serious injuries from the altercation, including a broken jaw requiring eight surgeries, along with head, neck, and face pain.
Seeking Compensation for Injuries and Emotional Distress
In his lawsuit, Weidenmuller sought $724,000 to cover medical expenses and for the emotional distress he endured due to the incident.
