Steve Bannon Ordered to Report to Prison After Supreme Court Rejects Appeal
Steve Bannon, former Trump adviser, must begin his four-month prison sentence for contempt of Congress after the Supreme Court denies his appeal.
Bollywood Fever: Steve Bannon, the podcast host and former top adviser to Donald Trump, is required to report to prison on Monday following the Supreme Court’s rejection of his bid to delay his four-month prison sentence.
“The application for release pending appeal presented to The Chief Justice and by him referred to the Court is denied,” stated the Supreme Court order.

Bannon was convicted in 2022 on two counts of contempt of Congress for refusing to comply with a subpoena issued by the January 6th Committee. Despite his efforts to appeal the conviction, Bannon’s plea was rejected, and a district judge ordered him to commence his prison term earlier this month.
Bannon argued that he was acting on legal advice in resisting the January 6th Committee’s subpoena. He also contended that there were unresolved issues regarding executive privilege, despite the fact that the subpoena pertained to a period well after his departure from the White House. Bannon served as Trump’s chief strategist but left the position in August 2017, about eight months into Trump’s term.
With the Supreme Court’s decision, Bannon is now obligated to begin serving his prison sentence on Monday.
