United Airlines Faces Cleanup Challenge: Dog Feces Found on Seats
A spokesperson from United Airlines informed that the airline’s inflight crew promptly cleaned the affected area after being alerted by passengers. Sanitizing wipes were provided, and travel vouchers were offered to passengers in the vicinity.
Passengers aboard United Airlines Flight 498 experienced an unpleasant odor mid-air during their journey from Denver to Portland on Monday night. The foul smell was attributed to dog feces that had spilled onto the seats.
According to eyewitnesses, a woman traveling from Cincinnati with her female Chihuahua in a crate took the dog out during the flight, leading to the canine relieving itself.
While passengers understood accidents happen, their main concern was the perceived slow response from the flight attendants. It reportedly took approximately 10 minutes for the crew to address the situation and attend to the feces scattered across the seats and floor.
Witnesses described passengers becoming nauseated due to the mess, and they criticized the delayed and inadequate response from the crew. Although flight vouchers ranging from $50 to $75 were offered to those in the affected area, passengers felt more should have been done to handle the situation promptly and effectively.
