Son Heung-min’s Brace and Pickford’s Blunder Propel Tottenham to 4-0 Victory Over Everton
Tottenham Hotspur secured a 4-0 win against Everton in the Premier League, with goals from Son Heung-min, Yves Bissouma, and Cristian Romero. A costly mistake by Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford further sealed their fate.
Bollywood Fever: Tottenham Hotspur cruised to a dominant 4-0 victory over a struggling Everton side in the Premier League on Saturday, thanks in large part to a brace from Son Heung-min and a glaring error from Everton’s goalkeeper, Jordan Pickford.
The win marks Tottenham’s first of the season and leaves Everton reeling after a disastrous start to their campaign.
The match got off to a strong start for Tottenham, who took the lead through Yves Bissouma. The midfielder scored his first goal for the club, hammering the ball into the net off the underside of the crossbar after it fell to him at the edge of the box.
Tottenham’s dominance was evident throughout, with Everton offering little in the way of a threat.

Everton’s woes were compounded when Pickford, England’s number one goalkeeper, made a costly mistake. In the first half, he failed to control a simple back pass on the wet surface, allowing Son to pounce on the loose ball and score into an empty net.
The error visibly rattled the Everton side, and Pickford could only lift his hand in apology to his teammates and the traveling fans.
Despite Tottenham easing off slightly after going two goals up, they remained firmly in control of the game. Cristian Romero added a third goal in the 70th minute, heading in from a corner while Pickford remained rooted to his line, perhaps still shaken from his earlier blunder.
Son then capped off a fine individual performance with his second goal of the match. A brilliant run from defender Micky van de Ven, who carried the ball from his own box, set up the South Korean to finish from a tight angle, putting the game well out of Everton’s reach.
Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou expressed his satisfaction with the performance, especially after the disappointment of letting a lead slip in their season opener against Leicester City. “I think we thoroughly deserved it.
We dominated and we felt we should have had three points last Monday,” Tottenham midfielder James Maddison said. “The performance was there on Monday.
It was a case of not putting our chances away. It’s important you try and put into practice what the manager wants. It’s about us trusting him.”
For Everton, the result piles on the pressure as they have now conceded seven goals in two games without scoring any themselves.
Manager Sean Dyche will be seeking a quick turnaround when his side hosts Bournemouth next week, in what already looks like a crucial match for his beleaguered team.
This convincing win sees Tottenham establish themselves early in the season, while Everton faces an uphill battle to recover from a disastrous start.
