Angel Reese Congratulates Caitlin Clark on the Record
Iowa standout Caitlin Clark received a flood of support from celebrities like Tom Brady, Brittney Griner, and Damian Lillard after becoming the NCAA’s all-time leading scorer. However, one congratulatory message stood out from the rest: a post from Angel Reese.
Clark shone brightly as the Hawkeyes triumphed over Michigan on Thursday, scoring 49 points and cementing her status as the greatest scorer in women’s college basketball history.
The moment she surpassed Kelsey Plum’s record of 3,527 points was truly remarkable, as she drained a deep three-pointer from the edge of the half-court logo.
Tributes poured in after the achievement, including a star-studded video posted on the Big Ten Network’s X account.
The video featured personal messages from Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis, Gayle King, Peyton and Eli Manning, and the G.O.A.T. himself.
There had been tension between Clark and Reese during last season’s national championship game, during which Reese taunted Clark with the John Cena “You Can’t See Me” gesture—an action Caitlin had done in the past.
Reese’s taunting was criticized by many as unsportsmanlike, prompting Clark to defend Reese and assert that any criticism of her was unwarranted.
Despite efforts to pit the two players against each other, Reese’s post makes it clear that there is nothing but love between them.
