Honda Two-Wheeler’s India sales rose 67% in June and Four-Wheeler’s 64%.

Two-wheeler maker Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) reported a 67 percent year-on-year growth in its total two-wheeler sales at 3,83,882 units in June.

The company had sold 2,32,497 vehicles in June 2021, HMSI said in a statement on July 1. In the domestic market, the sales grew 65 percent to 3,55,560 units in June 2022, compared with 2,12,453 units in the same month last year.

“The growth expectations we set out at the beginning of FY23 are gradually becoming a reality.

The timely arrival of monsoon has impacted the economic indicators favorably,” Atsushi Ogata, Managing Director, President, and CEO at Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India said.

He said the company expects the coming months to sustain this upward trend as more customers look for two-wheeler mobility options.

Honda’s 64% Growth In Four-Wheeler sells 7,834 cars in June. 

 Honda Cars India (HCIL) has announced its wholesales for June 2022 with domestic sales of 7,834 units.

The company registered a 64 percent Y-oY growth compared to 4,767 units sold for the same period last year.

The Japanese automaker exported 2,502 units in June 2022 against 1,241 in the same month last year.

Yuichi Murata, Director, Marketing and Sales, Honda Cars India, said, “The demand trend for Honda Cars remains robust as the industry notices a good month in automotive sales consumption.

However, the supply-side challenges, including chip shortage continued to affect our production and despatches in June. Unfortunately, this situation still persists and clear signs of recovery are not visible yet.” 

He added, “Our latest product offering, the new City e: HEV, continues to draw customers’ attention and interest towards Strong Hybrid technology and its benefits.

We believe this self-charging electric hybrid technology will gain strong acceptance in the market, and it will pave the way for an electrified future.”
