Ice Spice Vs Latto, Beef Explained

The relationship between two popular rappers, Ice Spice and Latto, has soured recently. Ice Spice gained fame in 2022 with her hit single, “Munch (Feelin’ U),” and has since released an EP and another chart-topping single. In comparison, Latto has been a “new artist” since 2016 and has not achieved the same level of success as Ice Spice.

Ice Spice Vs Latto, Beef Explained

Both rappers have expressed admiration for Nicki Minaj, but things went wrong when Latto thought that Minaj was taking a dig at her. Latto went on a Twitter rant against Minaj, calling her names and even mentioning her family. Ice Spice’s friend, Cleo, made a video that mocked Latto’s behavior, and Ice Spice reposted it on her Instagram story, sparking speculation that the two rappers were not getting along.

“I don’t like when the young girls come for the old girls… have some respect for your elders.”

Ice Spice released two hit singles, “Bikini Bottom” and “In Ha Mood,” and one of the viral lyrics from “Bikini Bottom” seemed to shade Latto. Social media caught on to the shade, and Latto responded with her collaboration titled “Boom Pt. 2,” which also had lyrics that seemed to be directed at Ice Spice.

Ice Spice released back to back, smash hit, singles such as “Bikini Bottom” & “In Ha Mood.” One of the viral lyrics coming from “Bikini Bottom” was “how can I lose if I’m already chose.” At the time, Latto followed Ice Spice but when asked to finish the lyric, she acted clueless.

Social media caught wind of the shade & Ice Spice must have caught it too as a track from her EP, “Princess Diana,” seemingly clapped back at Latto. “B*tches ain’t taking shit from me but notes, Wanna be me so she do my emotes, And my name in her mouth, So I bet she gone choke.”

The two rappers continued to exchange subtle jabs on Twitter and Instagram, with Ice Spice posting a video of herself rapping Nicki Minaj’s verse from “Make Love,” which some interpreted as a response to Latto. The feud between the two rappers seems to be ongoing, and it remains to be seen if they will reconcile in the future.
