Kyle Richards Stunned by Dorit Kemsley’s Revelation of Private Texts at RHOBH Reunion
Bollywoodfever, March 1: Kyle Richards, the original cast member of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, was unexpectedly taken aback when Dorit Kemsley revealed a private conversation between them at the Season 13 reunion of the show.
“I was really shocked, honestly. I was really surprised by that,” Richards expressed during an Amazon Live session on Thursday, February 29. “Because in all of the years of doing this show — 14 years there now — I’ve never, ever shared anything that’s been said to me off-camera or a text that’s off camera [and] private.”
Richards clarified that although some text messages are shared during the show or reunion episodes, those are typically messages meant for the entire group or pertain to events that occurred within the show itself.
“But a personal one?” Richards added. “No. I’ve never done that. I never have and that’s just a rule that I have, and so that really surprised me.”
In preparation for the reunion, Kemsley discussed the controversial text with Erika Jayne, who has since publicly addressed the tension that has arisen between the friends since the airing of Part 1 of the reunion.
Speaking to Us Weekly, Jayne expressed her disdain for the discussion of the message on the show, despite having read the text aloud herself. “It’s a tough question because it’s personal and it sucks,” Jayne commented, questioning the appropriateness of sharing the text.
“And that’s why you see me say, ‘I hate this,'” Jayne elaborated, describing her reaction in Kemsley’s trailer. “I hate every minute of this. I don’t want to see this. I don’t want to know this. And then that will have to be sorted out between the two of them.”
Before the reunion began, Kemsley shared with Jayne her concerns about her relationship with Richards, mentioning a manipulative text from Richards that attempted to discourage her from discussing their issues on air.
Bethenny Frankel criticized Kemsley and Bravo for making the text public, labeling it a “violation” and questioning the network’s respect for personal boundaries.
Teddi Mellencamp, a former RHOBH cast member, saw Kemsley’s action as a desperate attempt to maintain her relevance on the show, criticizing her for revealing such confidential information.
