In a video teaser released by Itau Unibanco, the legendary “Material Girl” and “Vogue” artist excitedly proclaimed, “Brazil, I’m coming soon.”
Further details about the concert are anticipated to be unveiled at a press conference scheduled for Monday, as per an invitation circulated to media representatives by Itau and Heineken, a major beer brand in Brazil.
The news has sparked enthusiasm within the local hospitality sector. Alfredo Lopes, the head of the Rio hotel union, likened the event’s potential impact on tourism to “New Year’s Eve coming early,” predicting hotel bookings in the city’s most visited areas might surge to full capacity in anticipation of Madonna’s performance.
Although columnist Lauro Jardim of O Globo hinted at a possible May 4 date for the concert, this has yet to be officially confirmed by the authorities or the 65-year-old pop icon herself.
Copacabana Beach has historically been a hotspot for massive free musical events, attracting millions of attendees with performances by stars like the Rolling Stones, Rod Stewart, and Lenny Kravitz.
