Matthew Perry’s Foundation Warns of Crypto Scam After X Account Hack

Bollywoodfever, February 27: Matthew Perry’s X account became the target of scammers orchestrating a crypto donation fraud through a deceptive website, as reported by his foundation.

A misleading link, purportedly for donations to the actor’s foundation, actually redirected supporters to a fraudulent site.

The Matthew Perry Foundation promptly denounced the scam, regaining control of his social media.

The foundation alerted on Instagram, cautioning followers about the hack and the fake donation site, emphasizing that MatthewPerryFoundation.org is the sole official website.

The identity of the scammers and the extent of the donations made to the fraudulent site remain unknown, with the deceptive post now removed from X.

The foundation, established in Perry’s honor, aims to support individuals struggling with addiction, reflecting the actor’s personal commitment to the cause.

Perry, who passed away last October, was open about his battles with addiction, sharing his journey towards sobriety in his memoir, “Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing.”

Perry’s death was attributed to the acute effects of ketamine, with drowning listed as a secondary cause, following the discovery of his body in a hot tub at his residence in the L.A. area.
