In an interview with People, De Niro couldn’t help but express his admiration for his youngest child, describing her as “such an adorable baby” and remarking on her sweetness.
Despite the unconventional family dynamic of having a seventh child at 79 years old, De Niro humorously acknowledges the joy Gia brings to the entire family, even delighting his grandchildren who are nearing their teenage years.
Aside from Gia, born in spring 2023 to his partner Tiffany Chen, De Niro is a father to six other children: Drena, Raphael, twins Julian and Aaron, Elliot, and Helen. Tragically, he also mourns the loss of his grandson, Leandro, who passed away from an accidental overdose last year at the age of 19.
Emotionally, De Niro describes the profound impact Gia has had on him, revealing that his worries fade away when he gazes at her, describing the experience as “wondrous.”
