In the hours leading up to his untimely death, Robert Garrison Brown, the 25-year-old son of “Sister Wives” celebrities Janelle Brown and Kody Brown, sent several texts that raised alarms, as detailed in a police report released on March 6.
Janelle Brown, who has five other children with Kody, informed authorities that Garrison had texted various individuals associated with the Brown family, expressing a complex mix of nostalgia and sadness: “I want to hate you for sharing the good times. But I can’t. I miss these days,” the report quotes. Alarmed by these messages, Janelle attempted to engage her son in conversation via text, which was brief before Garrison ceased responding.
Concerned by the silence, Janelle requested her other children to visit Garrison. Gabriel “Gabe” Brown, 22, agreed to check on his brother, only to discover Garrison deceased at his residence in Flagstaff, Arizona, the police report states.
The Brown family has yet to disclose the cause or circumstances of Garrison’s death. Attempts to contact Flagstaff police for further comments have so far gone unanswered.
In a heartfelt statement released on March 5, Janelle and Kody Brown, who separated in 2022 after over 30 years together, expressed their profound sorrow over the loss of Garrison, highlighting his significant impact on those around him: “His loss will leave such a big hole in our lives that it takes our breath away,” they shared on Instagram. They have requested privacy as they mourn and celebrate Garrison’s memory.
Garrison first appeared on television in 2010 during the inaugural season of “Sister Wives,” a show that chronicled Kody Brown’s polygamous family life. The series has documented the dissolution of Kody’s spiritual unions with Janelle, Meri Brown, and Christine Brown, while he remains legally wed to Robyn Brown. Recent episodes have delved into the fraying ties within the family, including the estrangement between Kody and his sons Garrison and Gabe.
In a poignant revelation on the show last October, Garrison shared his achievements and life changes since distancing from his father, including purchasing a house, enrolling in school, and acquiring a desired car against his father’s advice.
Just days before his passing, Garrison announced the rescue of a cat, Ms. Buttons, joining his two other cats adopted in 2022, showcasing his compassionate nature. “She’s 9 years old and was on the line for euthanasia but my savior complex couldn’t suffice. #crazycatlady,” Garrison posted on Instagram on February 28, along with pictures of his new pet.
