Billie Eilish Expressing Displeasure Over TikTok Stars’ Presence at the People’s Choice Awards – Caught in Conversation with Kylie Minogue
Billie Eilish found herself at the center of attention after making remarks about TikTokers attending the People’s Choice Awards.
In a circulating video, the singer could be heard sharing her thoughts with Kylie Minogue, saying, “I’m like, there’s some… TikTokers here.” Her comment was accompanied by a gesture as if she wanted to avoid being overheard.
Fans interpreted her words as disapproval of the presence of TikTokers, with many expressing agreement. One fan posted, “Billie shading the plague of the internet makes me like her even more,” while another humorously remarked, “lol I couldn’t make it in acting, so I cook on TikTok, but I’m with Billie on this one.”
Despite the attention on her comments, Billie had a successful night at the awards ceremony, winning the coveted TV Performance of the Year award for her role in the Prime miniseries Swarm.
During her acceptance speech, she expressed gratitude and thanked her collaborators on the project.
Swarm, which made its debut last year, delves into themes of toxic fandom, a topic that resonates deeply with Billie as a global pop star. She revealed that the show’s exploration of this aspect struck a chord with her own experiences.
Interestingly, despite initially considering herself “really bad” at acting, Billie embraced the opportunity to explore the craft when offered the role of Eva in Swarm by Donald Glover.
In addition to her win for TV Performance of the Year, Billie was also nominated for Pop Star of the Year, an accolade ultimately claimed by Taylor Swift.
