Residents of Silver Springs, Florida, express relief after a suspected drug house was raided, leading to multiple arrests and increased police patrols in the area.
Florida Community Frustrated by Drug House Finally Sees Action After Complaints
Residents of a small community in Silver Springs, Florida, had been dealing with the troubling presence of a suspected drug house, causing unrest in their normally peaceful neighborhood. Locals reached out to News 6 to highlight the constant activity, thefts, and fear that gripped their streets.
Beth Campbell, a local resident, described the scene, “We see people coming and going at all hours. They’re stumbling down the street, clearly high on something.” Another neighbor, Carol Lane, even resorted to putting bars on her windows due to safety concerns. “It’s mind-boggling. I can’t sleep at night wondering if someone’s banging on my house for help or something else,” she said.

The rise in theft has added another layer of anxiety. Timothy Santrock shared how the situation has deteriorated, stating, “I’ve had hitches and a generator stolen. Nothing is safe in this neighborhood anymore.”
Concerned for her grandchildren, Campbell added, “We’re scared to let them play in the yard because of what’s happening around us.”
Frustrated by the lack of progress, the community was relieved when law enforcement finally took action. News 6 reached out to Sheriff Billy Woods for comment, but while he declined an interview, his office confirmed they were aware of the issues.
On the same day, a search warrant was executed at the address in question. Police found cocaine, methamphetamine, marijuana, and used needles in the home. Three individuals were arrested: David Biaza, accused of manufacturing and selling crack cocaine, along with Donald Burns and Lance Shackelford, both facing felony drug charges.
The increased police presence has since calmed the neighborhood, and residents are cautiously optimistic. “We’re hoping it stays quiet,” said Campbell. “Getting News 6 involved really made a difference.”
