Jonathan Majors Faces Lawsuit for Alleged Strangulation and Defamation by Ex-Girlfriend User
Jonathan Majors faces serious allegations from his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari, in a lawsuit that brings charges of strangulation, assault, battery, and defamation against him.
Filed in the Southern District of New York, the lawsuit by Jabbari, a professional dancer, outlines instances of alleged abuse throughout their relationship from August 2021 to early 2023, according to Rolling Stone.
A particularly disturbing incident from September 20, 2022, is highlighted in the lawsuit, where Jabbari accuses the “Marvel” actor of becoming violent after a night out, resulting in her sustaining a head injury. The altercation reportedly took place in London, where Majors is said to have assaulted Jabbari by throwing her onto a car hood, placing her in a headlock, and covering her mouth to muffle her cries for help. The lawsuit alleges he then dragged her inside their residence, where he continued the assault by hitting her head against the marble floor and strangulating her to the point of nearly losing breath.
Rolling Stone’s documents detail further accusations, including a threat to kill Jabbari and self-harm threats by Majors to dissuade her from seeking medical attention. Jabbari also endured a bruise on her backside from the altercation.
Another significant accusation in the lawsuit relates to an incident in June 2022 in Los Angeles, where Majors allegedly pinned Jabbari’s arms and slammed her against a wall, causing another head injury.
This lawsuit follows a December 2023 verdict where Majors was found guilty of assault and harassment in a separate case involving Jabbari. A March 2023 arrest for choking Jabbari during a domestic dispute had led to hospital treatment for her minor head and neck injuries.
Despite these allegations, Majors has publicly addressed his shock and fear following the guilty verdict, asserting confusion over the decision given the evidence presented. He emphasized the support of loved ones during this challenging time, including his relationship with actress Meagan Good, whom he has reportedly been dating since May 2023.
Majors’ sentencing, originally scheduled for February, has been postponed to April as his legal team seeks to overturn the verdict.
The narrative surrounding these serious allegations highlights ongoing legal battles and raises significant concerns about domestic violence, reminding those affected that help is available through the National Domestic Violence Hotline.
