BollywoodFever: Kathryn Crosby, known for her roles in classic films such as Operation Mad Ball, The 7th Voyage of Sinbad, and Anatomy of a Murder, has died at the age of 90. Crosby passed away peacefully on Friday at her home in Hillsborough, California, surrounded by her family, according to a family spokesperson.
Born Olive Kathryn Grandstaff in Houston, Texas, in 1933, Kathryn’s Hollywood career began in the 1950s under the stage name Kathryn Grant. She quickly rose to fame, starring in films directed by Phil Karlson, such as Tight Spot and The Brothers Rico. Her talent was showcased in roles alongside legends like James Stewart and Jack Lemmon, and she was a leading lady in some of the most memorable films of the era.

In 1957, Kathryn married Hollywood icon Bing Crosby, after meeting him during her early days in the film industry. Their marriage led Kathryn to step back from her blossoming acting career to focus on her family. The couple had three children together: Harry, Mary, and Nathaniel.
While largely putting her acting career on hold, Kathryn appeared with Bing in Christmas specials, on The Hollywood Palace, and in Minute Maid commercials, where they portrayed an idyllic American family. After Bing’s passing in 1977, Kathryn continued to be active on stage, appearing in productions like Same Time, Next Year and the Broadway revival of State Fair.
Kathryn also penned several memoirs about her life with Bing, including Bing and Other Things, My Life With Bing, and My Last Years With Bing.
In addition to her acting and writing, Kathryn had a passion for education, earning a degree in nursing in 1963 and later marrying Maurice William Sullivan, who had tutored her children. Sullivan tragically died in a car accident in 2010, which left Kathryn seriously injured.
Kathryn Crosby is survived by her three children: Harry, an investment banker; Mary, an actress known for her role on Dallas; and Nathaniel, an accomplished amateur golfer.
Kathryn’s life was marked by both immense talent and devotion to family, and she will be remembered as a beloved actress and partner to one of Hollywood’s greatest legends.
