Kevin Costner and Christine Baumgartner Officially Conclude Their Marriage with Finalized Divorce
According to court records filed on Tuesday, a judge has officially declared Kevin Costner and Christine Baumgartner divorced, ending their nearly two-decade-long marriage.
The divorce was finalized on Friday, nine months after Baumgartner initially filed for divorce, as indicated by a judgment entered in Santa Barbara County court.
Following their separation, Costner and Baumgartner engaged in legal battles over child custody and support payments, initially suggesting a contentious trial. However, they managed to reach a settlement agreement in September, averting the need for a trial.
Under the terms of the agreement, they will share joint custody of their three children, aged 16, 15, and 13. In September, a judge ruled that Costner would pay approximately $63,000 per month in child support, significantly lower than the $175,000 per month initially sought by Baumgartner.
Costner, 69, and Baumgartner, 48, a model and handbag designer, began their relationship in 1998 and tied the knot at Costner’s Colorado ranch in 2004.
This marks the second marriage for Costner, known for his acclaimed performances in TV’s “Yellowstone” and films like “Dances With Wolves,” “The Bodyguard,” and “Bull Durham.” He also has four adult children from previous relationships.
