Officer and Suspect Injured in Fountain Police Shooting After Robbery Incident
A Fountain police officer and a suspect were injured following a robbery and officer-involved shooting. The suspect is hospitalized with serious injuries as the investigation continues.
BollywoodFever: A Fountain police officer and a suspect were injured following an officer-involved shooting stemming from a robbery call on Saturday morning.
The incident began just before 10 a.m. when Fountain police responded to a robbery report at a Walgreens on Fountain Mesa Road.
The suspect allegedly threatened employees, claiming to have a gun and bomb before fleeing with stolen items.
Police tracked the suspect to a nearby Lowe’s, and later to a Chase Bank, where two officers discharged their firearms.
One of the shots hit the suspect, who was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
An officer was also hospitalized with minor injuries, though details about those injuries have not been released.
The two officers involved have been placed on paid administrative leave as the Colorado Springs police take over the investigation.
The suspect’s name has not been disclosed.
